Ok, how does this website work?

It's quite simple. You can use it as a reference site, exactly as before, but now you have additional features, such as seeing the most popular items, seeing what other people have bought before and, of course most importantly, the ability to order and pay online!

How do I get around?

You can jump to the area you want in a variety of ways. The menu on the left will take you through each division, the Product Range below it has been designed to work (roughly!) by chronological period, the buttons acorss the top jump you to the start of each brand and the search engine will allow you to find specific items!

Cool, how do I do it?

Simply go through the website and find what you want, then click on the 'Buy Now' or 'Add to Cart' buttons. The more time you click on them, the more items it adds.

I've added too many things to my shopping basket!

Don't worry, simply go to your shopping cart by clicking the Cart Contents button and there you can edit what is in it, changing the quantities as you need.

I've finished buying, how do I checkout?

Click on the checkout button. You will need to register, but it is only basic information for us to be able to send your order to you.

Do I need to register?

If you just want to look around, no. You can go everywhere, put things in your basket and do everything except check out. At this time, if you want to actually buy something online you will need to register. At some time in the future I may re-visit this and put in a system that lets you order without registering, but it\s a very minor process and you get the advantage that it keeps a record of things you have ordered in the past, most popular orders, etc.

Do you keep my details?

We only have a record to very minor details, name, address, contact number and email address. Those are used so we have somewhere to post your order and in case we need to contact you about something. We will never knowingly pass these details on to anyone else unless you specifically request us to.

What about payment details?

The online payment system is done 'off-site'. Payment is via the Paypal HTTPS server, so no payment details are kept on our server.

Can I still place an order by phone/post?

Yes, of course you can. We still accept cash too :-)

How can I pay?

Available payment options will be shown to you, either by cheque or online via our Paypal system. Everywhere has the option to pay by Paypal, which includes paying directly by credit card - see Paying Options below!

What are your postal charges?

UK: Minimum £1, maximum £5, postage is 10% of order value

Europe: Postage is roughly 20% of order value

Rest of World: Postage is 30% of order.

Why roughly?

The program uses a rate table for UK and European postage, therefore I have had to generate a whole matrix of prices in £5 brackets. If you are concerned about the postal charge it is giving you, select Invoice in the payment option. We will then know to take a look at it and can send you a Paypal invoice.

How can I pay?

You will be given different options, depending on where you are. In the UK you may be given the option to collect it at a show you are attending, thus saving postage costs. You may also have the option to send us a cheque, payable to LKM Direct Limited. Sorry, but we can only accept cheques drawn on in Sterling. Finally, you will have the option for Paypal. Please note, by selecting Paypal you can pay direct from your credit card even if you don't have a Paypal account.

Oh, and it does also say invoice. That's mainly for dealers (still working on that bit!) or if you want to send the order through but have some major query that you want us to sort out.

Do I need a Paypal account?

No you don't. When you confirm your order it will take you to the Paypal website where you can select that you do not have a Paypal account. You will need to enter the shipping and billing address, as well as your card details, through Paypal's own secure website. Note that you can pay directly from your credit card through Paypal's own server without having a Paypal account.

Do you store my payment details?

No, we keep no payment details online. We only have a record of your contact details to be able to send you your order. All payment details are handled inside Paypal's own secure server - look for the HTTPS start to the web address.

Do I have to pay extra to use the Paypal option?

No. The total you see is for the order plus shipping. We pay a cost to Paypal from every order, the same as we do with any credit card order. That's the cost of commercial banking. But there is no additional cost to the customer.

Is Paypal safe?

Millions of users think so. I've had a personal Paypal account for many years and haven't had any problems.

Where are the Platoon Pack deals?

Ah, you've found the technical hitch. I haven't yet figured out how to automatically include the discount structure necessary for those. If you are ordering any items between £3.50 and £6.00 in multiples of 3 or more go to the Platoon Pack Special Savings area and add the requisite number of discounts. We will then check it in the factory.

Can I collect an item at a show still? (UK only)

Yes, of course you can. You can either pay in advance or on the day. Simply select the Collect at Show option.

Do I still get a 10% discount for pre-ordering for collection at a show?

Yes. When you get to the payment options, enter the following code into the Discount Coupon area: UKSHOW

However, you cannot have both Platoon Pack discounts AND a show discount, you have a choice between having 15% off Platoon Pack deals, or 10% off the whole order.

What if I put that discount code into any order?

I'll spot it and send you a Paypal invoice for the difference. Also it will delay us sending out your order ;-)
