SOMUA MCL 5 Artillery Caisson

The SOMUA MCL artillery tractor and recovery vehicle was used to tow medium artillery pieces such as the 155 mm mle 1917 CS howitzer and the 105 mm mle 1936 field gun, as well as their specific ammunition trailers.
Many of these were captured and used by Germany. The captured Somua MCG and Somua MCL were known as the Mittlere Gepanzerter Zugkraftwagen S303(f), Mittlere Schutzenpanzerwagen S307(f) respectively. 16 were converted in 1944 to carry 75 mm PaK40 L/46 and a 7.92 mm MG34 or MG42.
