Workshop Wednesday

I am excited to share with you some details of what has been going on in the backgrounds as there has been a large gap since the last update! I have two new models that are in development and master moulds will be made soon, which I will show the progress of these on social media if you are interested in following the progress.

The images above are of an updated LAV25 which will replace the current model and the other is completely new. It is the Boxer Mechanised Infantry Vehicle (as designated by the British Army). Both the models will be the first ones in their respective vehicle family groups and I’ll be expanding each one in due course.

I hope you like them!

Work has just stared on adding new WW2 landing craft to the range as well, the plan will be to have the following:

  • LCM (Landing Craft Mechanized)
  • The LCVP (Landing Craft Vehicle & Personnel) or Higgins Boat
  • LCA (Landing Craft Assault)

I look forward to bringing more details of these as they progress!

Notification of upcoming Price Changes

Thank you for taking some time to read the news section and I truly value your engagement with QRF.

I have now been running QRF for nearly 2 years and as mentioned in the news letter, I am coming to the end of over 21 years in the Royal Air Force. Whilst I have been getting to grips with the background mechanics and production of your favourite items prices have remained static. However, with some quite large changes in raw materials and the desire to add to the ranges you love I am having to increase the costs on the website to ensure QRF remains able to produce the models for your wargaming pleasure.

Kind regards

Behind the Scenes: A Sneak Peek at Our Projects

I wanted to update you on what’s been happening behind the scenes. I have been working on a variety of projects lately and I thought it would be great to share some insights with you. So, starting from today, I will be posting each Wednesday to keep you informed.

Each week, you can expect a sneak peek into the projects on my workbench. I’ll give you a closer look at what I’ve been working on, the challenges I’ve faced, and the progress made so far. You’ll get an inside view of the creative process and the exciting things happening in the background.

But that’s not all – I value your input and feedback greatly. If there is anything specific you’d like to see added to the ranges or if you have any suggestions, I encourage you to leave a comment on these posts, engage with me on social media, or send me an email. Your feedback will help shape future projects.

So stay tuned for the weekly updates and I can’t wait to hear your thoughts and ideas.

This week’s workbench

The items on the bench this week are getting ready for new pictures for the website. Some of the images are nearly 10 years old!

So definitely time for an update.

On my workbench this week, I have been preparing the items for the new pictures. In the photo you can see markers that indicate if troops are ‘dug in’, a mortar pit/gun emplacement, some mine fields, and other generic bits to enhance the appearance of your battlefield.

To make these items look even more realistic, I have been experimenting with Vallejo mud effect paints. I’m hoping that the finished results will look great.
